Bacolor, Pampanga — February 9, 2026 — Eight8Ate Holdings, Inc., a leading Philippine food and restaurant operator, formally inaugurated the solar energy integration at the commissary facility in Bacolor, Pampanga through a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a major step in the company’s sustainability and operational efficiency initiatives
The event was led by Mr. Joey R. Garcia, President and CEO of Eight8Ate Holdings, Inc., and was attended by key government officials, business partners, and company executives.
Among the distinguished guests were Mayor Eduardo Diman G. Datu, Municipal Mayor of Bacolor, Pampanga; Captain Elma David, Barangay Captain of Sta. Barbara, Bacolor; and Engr. Kurt Aliño, President of Pylon Energy Corporation.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Joey R. Garcia highlighted the importance of the newly installed solar energy system, citing its long-term benefits to both the company and the local community. He emphasized that the “initiative will significantly reduce operational costs while supporting Pampanga’s growing role as a hub for sustainable industrial development.”
The solar installation project was implemented in partnership with Pylon Energy Corporation, which completed the installation of a 268.8-kilowatt peak (kWp) grid-tied solar photovoltaic system at the commissary facility.
During his message, Engr. Aliño underscored that the project aims to deliver an average of 30 percent savings on monthly electricity costs, protect the facility from rising power rates, and provide clean and reliable energy without disrupting daily operations.
“The system, composed of 420 rooftop solar panels, is designed to directly power the facility during peak daytime operations, making it both efficient and cost-effective” Engr. Aliño said.
The program was also attended by Eight8Ate executives, including Mr. Vincent Paolo A. Conti, Vice President and General Manager of Eight8Ate Restaurant Solutions; Mr. Hernando T. Antenor, Senior Consultant for General Services, Administration, and Human Resources; Ms. Magdalena G. Urriza, General Manager of Commissary Business Operations; Ms. Jem Zamora, Senior Manager for Corporate Affairs and Sustainability; Ms. Celina Anne A. Garcia, Human Resource Manager for Commissary Business Operations and some of Eight8ate employees.
The ceremony concluded with a closing message from Mayor Datu, who commended Eight8Ate for investing in renewable energy and recognized the company’s contribution to local economic growth and environmental responsibility.
