In a significant move toward sustainability, Eight8ate Holdings, Inc., the group behind Conti’s and Wendy’s Philippines, formalized its partnership with Plastic Bank through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held on April 22, 2026, in celebration of Earth Day.
As the company powering two of the country’s well-loved brands, Conti’s and Wendy’s Philippines, Eight8ate continues to translate its purpose of being “Hungry for Good” into tangible environmental action. This collaboration with Plastic Bank, a globally recognized social enterprise tackling ocean plastic while uplifting communities, marks a significant step toward advancing a circular economy in the Philippines.
The signing ceremony was led by Eight8ate President and CEO Mr. Joey R. Garcia, alongside Chief Finance Officer Mr. Dennis N. Dimaunahan and Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Sr. Manager Ms. Jem M. Zamora. Representing Plastic Bank Philippines were Mr. Rene Guarin, VP for Asia and Plastic Bank PH Country Manager, together with Audrey Trinidad, Dorothy Louise Cudo, and Ted Guayco. At the core of the partnership is a shared goal: to reduce plastic waste while generating meaningful social impact.
Through this collaboration, Eight8ate will help enable the recovery and recycling of approximately 242,000 kilograms of plastic, contributing to efforts that prevent plastic leakage into the environment. More than its environmental contribution, the initiative also highlights a strong social dimension. Through Plastic Bank’s community-based model, the program empowers local collection partners by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
These partners gain access to consistent income, social benefits, and improved quality of life, reinforcing the company’s commitment to people-centered sustainability.
